Who can Apply as International Student?

The following categories can only apply for international seats:

General Eligibility Criteria:
  1. Sixteen years of schooling or 4 years’ education post-HSSC/A’ Level, 12th Grade, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline:
    1. Minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 OR 55% marks, unless specified otherwise. Percentage will only be considered if CGPA is not mentioned on the transcript
    2. Exceptions:
      • MBA
      • MS Human Resource Management
      • MS Logistic & Supply Chain Management
      • MS Innovation and Entrepreneurship
      • MS Career Counselling & Education
    3. For the exceptions listed above, a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 OR 60% marks are necessary.
  2. Candidates, whose final result is awaited, can also apply for Masters admission, provided that they submit their final result before commencement of classes. The candidates will be responsible for providing the copy of their final scores to NUST.
  3. To gain admission, candidates are required to meet the general eligibility criteria as given above and either submit scores from or choose one of the available admission test options, including:
    1. NUST Masters Admission Test (NMAT) – Conducted by NUST (Note: Candidates can appear for NMAT after joining).
    2. Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) – Conducted by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
    3. GAT (General) – Conducted by National Testing Service of Pakistan.
    4. GRE – Administered by Educational Testing Service.
    5. GMAT – The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) operates the test.
    6. GNET – Conducted by NUST

e. International students are only eligible for programs offered at NUST H-12 Islamabad Campus.

f. It may be noted that NUST will only accept the scores of GRE (General) / GMAT examinations conducted on or after May 01, 2019.

Admission Timeline for International Students:

NUST has introduced rolling admissions for international students, providing greater flexibility and convenience in the application process. This allows prospective students to apply at any time throughout the year, with applications reviewed and decisions made on an ongoing basis for admissions in both the Spring(January) and Fall(September) of every year.

  1. Tuition fee for the first academic year (two semesters) will be required to be deposited as per selection letter.
  2. Miscellaneous charges will be charged @ USD 34/year.
  3. Harvard Business school licensing fee” will be charged to business students (MBA, MS HRM, EMBA, MS Logistics & Supply Chain Management & MS Innovation & Entrepreneurship) @ USD 104/year.
  4. Subsequent, tuition fee will be paid through challan form generated by Finance Directorate, NUST. The structure and schedule of payment will be intimated to the selected candidates.
  5. The security deposit is payable along with the admission processing fee at the time of admission.
  6. Summer Semester fee will be charge @ USD 40 Per credit hour for all programs (less EMBA). ​
Scholarships:
  1. NUST offers various scholarships in the form of bursaries on tuition fees for MS students.
  2. NUST also offers international students Fee Remission scholarship that will adjust their fee to be equivalent to the tuition fee for national students.
  3. All eligible international students can apply, evaluated based on academic profile, financial need, leadership, and community service.
  4. Enrolment and subsequent offer of scholarships to international students depend on the availability of seats in the particular program under the guidelines set by the regulatory bodies. i.e. PEC and NCEAC etc.
Scholarship Application Process:
  1. Applicants must submit a 300-400-word personal statement with their admission application, selecting the scholarship option.
  2. The statement should highlight motivation, career objectives, impact of the scholarship, leadership, and community service.
  3. The Scholarship Application Review Committee considers academic performance, diversity, financial need, leadership, and community service.

Accommodation:

Hostel accommodation for the international students is guaranteed however students have to apply for hostel. These on-campus hostels offer convenient housing for international students. Hostels offer fully furnished bedrooms with an Internet connection and are located within walking distance of schools and cafeterias. If you receive an offer from NUST, we’ll also send you information on how to apply for accommodation. You should apply for accommodation as soon as possible.
